Innovative Website Helps Small Businesses and Consumers Save During the Recession

The website, www.mapy, lets businesses all over the US post sales they're offering for free and then maps and categorizes the sales to make it easy for consumers to find. Consumers find the best prices, and small businesses ensure their sales are seen by consumers.

After being frustrated by narrowly missing sales due to lack of information, mapyeti founders Thomas Brown, David Chanin, Zach Dutton and Kyle Davis decided to do something about it. "There are great sales being offered everyday, but there's no easy way to find them," says David Chanin. "Businesses want you to know when they're offering sales, and consumers want to save money. Everybody can benefit."

Mapyeti doesn't just cover retail stores. Any business with an address and discounts is encouraged to add themselves to mapyeti, including restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. And it's not just businesses that can list their sales - Anyone who sees a great deal is encouraged to add it to mapyeti. Users can also rate and review anything they see on the site.
