Calvary Pastor to Speak About Cancer from a Christian Perspective
Westlake Village, CA, October 09, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura will host a free seminar titled: “Christian Perspectives on Coping with Cancer,” Thursday, October 15, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The talk will take place at 530 Hampshire Road in Westlake Village. Seminar leader Steven Day will speak on how to cope with daily realities and uncertainties of living with cancer and finding meaning and hope in the journey from a Christ-centered, biblically based perspective. Day has been the Shepherding Pastor at Calvary since 2001. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Hope International University in Orange County and serves as the team coach for Calvary’s care-giving ministries.
Founded in 1982, The Wellness Community is an international non-profit organization dedicated to providing free support, education and hope to people with cancer and their loved ones. In July 2009, The Wellness Community and Gilda’s Club joined forces to become the largest provider of cancer support worldwide. The combined organization is comprised of nearly 50 local affiliates, 12 affiliates in development and over 100 satellite locations.
