Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington Welcomes New Board Members

Washington, DC, October 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington announced new Members to their Board of Directors including Jim Dinegar (Greater Washington Board of Trade), Manny Hidalgo (Latino Economic Development Corp.), Kathy Kretman (Georgetown University), Jeannan Peterson (Bank of America), and Chad Williams (Coalition for Homeownership Preservation in Prince George’s County).

“We are excited to welcome these new directors who are committed to building the strength, visibility, and influence of the nonprofit community in order to create a more just and caring community in Greater Washington,” said Chuck Bean, executive director of the Nonprofit Roundtable. “They bring to our board an incredible breadth of experience and knowledge.”

The following new board members join 13 other current directors of the Roundtable:

Jim Dinegar joined the Greater Washington Board of Trade (www.bot.org) as President and Chief Executive Officer in July 2006. In this position, Dinegar oversees an organization that represents major business interests throughout Northern Virginia, the District of Columbia and Suburban Maryland. During his six-year tenure at the American Institute for Architects, Dinegar oversaw the growth of annual revenues by more than $20 million – from $34 million in 1999 to over $56 million for the 2006 budget – always resulting in net operating profits. Dinegar is a 30-year resident of the Greater Washington region.

Manny Hidalgo has served as Executive Director of the Latino Economic Development Corporation (www.ledcdc.org) in Washington, D.C. since May 2005. LEDC improves the wealth-building capacity of low to moderate income Latinos and other underserved communities in the Washington Metropolitan Area. With offices in Adams Morgan, DC and Wheaton, MD, they achieve their mission through small business development, homeownership counseling, and affordable housing preservation. He is a graduate of the 2007 Class of Leadership Greater Washington and the 2008 Nonprofit Roundtable Fellowship Program.

Kathy Kretman is the Director of Georgetown University’s Center for Public and Nonprofit Leadership (cpnl.georgetown.edu). She also serves as Research Professor at the Georgetown Public Policy Institute, where she chairs the Nonprofit Leadership and Policy Track and teaches courses on public leadership and nonprofit management. Georgetown’s Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate Program has more than 600 alumni serving in nonprofits all over the world.

Jeannan Peterson serves as Senior Vice President/Market Manager – Greater Washington/VA for Bank of America (www.bankofamerica.com). As part of the national Market President platform at Bank of America, her office serves as a community and business integration point for Bank of America in the Greater Washington and Virginia markets. Her responsibilities include the management of charitable investments, community outreach, marketing sponsorships, and partnerships with Team Bank of America - Bank of America’s associate-driven volunteer, speaking, and environmental networks and Bank of America’s Community Development Banking Group.

Chad Williams is the Chief Executive Officer of the Coalition for Home Ownership Preservation in Prince George's County. The Coalition is an advocacy, public relations, policy development and research membership organization of housing counseling agencies and community housing development organizations. He works with government sponsored enterprises, banks, investors, realtors, builders, property managers, foundations and Federal, State and Municipal governments, among others, as partners to stabilize, preserve, and increase homeownership and create economic opportunities for businesses and individuals in the homeownership industries of Prince George’s County, Maryland.

The directors and staff expressed gratitude to the three board members who ended their terms on September 30, including Alan Abramson (Aspen Institute and George Mason University), Ed Orzechowski (Catholic Charities DC), and Kathy McKinless (Archdiocese of Washington; retired KPMG).
