Woman Executives & Social Media in Liberty Lake Washington
Liberty Lake, WA, October 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- "Networking, referrals, education, and social activities for woman executives and business owners in Liberty Lake and surrounding areas." That is the mission statement for the WELL (Woman Executives of Liberty Lake) networking group that meets once a month in Liberty Lake.
Today Jamie Lynn Morgan of NetworkIN CDA spoke to a group of woman business owners and executives about Social Media and how it can be used to promote your business. It was an informative presentation and time allowed for a question and answer session that helped some of the ladies clarify some things that they were curious about.
Starting out with a few facts about the number and demographics of social media users and then moving on to the types of media out there explaining how each functions. Explained that it is about forming relationships not so much about pushing out your sales message. Organic search engine optimization was also mentioned as social media is a great way to help boost your ranking and hopefully be one of the ones on the first page of Google and others.
One example she used to show the room how connecting on social media is different from face to face is that now your connections "connections" are there for you to see. Where in a face to face situation the only person you initially have contact with is the person you just met. She asked Margie Basaraba of Check It Out Travel to stand up, then asked everyone in the room who knew Margie to stand up (obviously she had done her homework and knew that a majority of the room would know Margie, which made for a good example). After they were all standing, she then said to those that were still sitting, "If you were to connect with Margie via Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, etc. you would then have access to all the connections that Margie has." Having a visual of something like that is always an affective way to get a point across.
During the question and answer Elizabeth Caldwell with Allstate Insurance made a point of letting everyone know that anyone can get to the first page of Google you just need to work at it. Her example was of a friend of her son's who is only 18 but dominates the search on Google for what he is doing. Julie Kenyon of Prime Lending asked some really good questions about key words and social media safety and Janice Taggart talked about how getting your Linkedin profile to 100% updating it regularly helps to get you on the first page of Google as well.
Not only was the presentation well received, but the discussions afterwards were helpful to everyone in the room.
Jamie Lynn Morgan speaks regularly to small or large groups, teaches classes on individual social media tools i.e. Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Blogging, etc. weekly and offers one on one consultations. She currently resides in Coeur d'Alene Idaho with her husband of 18 years and her three children. They all enjoy the activities and cultural events in and around Coeur d'Alene. She has been known to say "I couldn't imagine living anywhere else!" and this is coming from someone who professes to not be a big fan of winter.
Most of her speaking, teaching, and consulting is done in Coeur d'Alene and Spokane, Washington, but she happily travels to places in the Inland Northwest to speak about Social Media (and will travel farther if the right opportunity presents itself). Jamie can be reached at: Web address http://getsocialsite.com-where you can find more information, email at jamie@networkincda.com, or find her on Facebook, Linkedin, & Twitter.
