1st Galaxy Fireworks Prepares for an Explosive Finale to Diwali
1st Galaxy Fireworks has won the contract for the ultimate finale at the Diwali ‘Festival of Lights’ at the largest Hindu temple outside of India.
Nottingham, United Kingdom, October 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- One of the UK’s leading firework suppliers, 1st Galaxy Fireworks, is preparing for the ultimate finale at the Diwali ‘Festival of Lights’ at the record-breaking Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, London – the largest Hindu temple outside of India.
1st Galaxy Fireworks (http://www.galaxy-fireworks.co.uk/), the Nottinghamshire-based company, which is one of the largest suppliers of fireworks and effects in the UK, is busily preparing for one of the UK’s biggest events on the firework calendar, after 5th November.
With a fireworks display (http://www.galaxy-fireworks.co.uk/featured_display.asp?eventtype=displays ) featuring 4550 explosions, carefully planned to represent the number of miles from Nottingham to Delhi, the 30-minute intricately designed display of fireworks will draw the 4-day Hindu festivities to a tantalising close for thousands of spectators on Saturday October 17th.
Displays Manager Lee Smith, from 1st Galaxy said, ‘We are incredibly proud to be a part of such an auspicious occasion, and to be able to design and deliver a display at such an historic temple. We have worked with many prestigious venues such as Nottingham Castle, Royal Air Force College Cranwell and Plymouth Mount Batten for the British Fireworks Championships, but this temple, which rises above the London skyline, is something else.
‘The management of such a huge display is immense – to plan, manage and safely launch 4,550 fireworks (http://www.galaxy-fireworks.co.uk/moreinfo.asp?id=MK115 ), as well as clear up all the resulting debris, will take a team of 10 pyrotechnicians, and we have been planning it for 2 months now,’ said Lee.
‘We are all looking forward to this event, and are already thinking about Diwali 2010, when the ‘Festival of Lights’ is due to take place on 5th November – so that will be some display!’
1st Galaxy Fireworks, which have been running for 15 years, is already being inundated with requests for displays and sales of fireworks, including customers who want to buy fireworks online (http://www.galaxy-fireworks.co.uk/shop.asp ) in the run up to 5th November. With the ‘firework season’ due to launch with Diwali, the requests for ‘bigger displays’ for this season are already in high demand.
‘As well as 5th November and Diwali, New Years Eve tends to be one of the biggest occasions for fireworks. We are already seeing a surge in requests for 31st December for displays, which could be the UK’s way of saying an explosive farewell to a difficult economic year.’
