Compassion Exhibition Gains Support
Local Artists Strives To Underscore Holy Parallels
Hollywood, FL, September 25, 2006 --(PR.com)-- A touring exhibition of paintings and works on paper by artist Terresa Ford is slated for the The Graham Center Art Gallery at FIU in Miami, Fla (February 2007) and the Broward County Library, Gallery 6 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla (April 2007).
The works in the exhibition encompass the spiritual theme of compassion as reflected in Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. Ford, a native of Buffalo, New York got her start at the nationally recognized MollyOlga Art School. She has a BFA from SUNY Brockport and an MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art.
Says Ford “Painting for me is a way to communicate with people and God. My paintings and drawings use visual imagery as a catalyst for discussions about the nature of spiritual evolution as it applies to social behavior.”
Ford would like to see works exhibited in other venues during the 2007/2008 exhibition season and welcomes invitations from both traditional and community based exhibition spaces. With sponsorship support of local religious and community organizations, Ford hopes to publish a catalogue that documents the exhibition, community response to the works, and literary contributions by local religious scholars.
