New York, NY, October 15, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Walch Education, a leading developer and publisher of secondary educational materials, has published the Academic Support Program for English Language Arts, NY State Regents Prep.
The program improves educational performance by focusing on vocabulary, reading comprehension, composition, and test-taking strategies. Its primary features include:
More than 80 hours of correlated instruction
More than 40 lessons correlated to IRA/NCTE Standards for English Language Arts
Strategies for direct instruction, differentiated approaches, alternative assessments, and extending learning
An easy-to-use 3-ring binder with reproducible activity sheets
The program also details how its lessons address the Learning Standards for English Language Arts, as assessed by the New York State Regents Examination. And the Academic Support Program for English Language Arts, NY State Regents Prep includes two assessments (and answer keys) modeled after the New York State Regents Examination.
“We developed this program as a classroom toolkit, to be used throughout the year in high school and in supplementary education settings,” says Walch Education Director of Education Susan Graham. “With the Academic Support Program for English Language Arts, NY State Regents Prep, teachers in New York can work with a diverse population of students, helping them to acquire the basic language arts capabilities tested by the Regents. The ASP provides a comprehensive review of content and skills while also offering test-taking strategies. We focus on the knowledge and skills students need to succeed in the Regents, not on short-term test-prep drills.”
