Sonitrol Pacific Monitored Video Catches Trespasser

Everett, WA, October 15, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Security video monitored by Sonitrol Pacific led to the arrest of a man hiding in a portable restroom within the fenced yard behind Goldfinch Brothers October 6.

Operator Sarah Bailey received a signal from the security system inside the company’s fenced lot and viewed live video from the site. She saw a man in dark clothing accompanied by a dog walking through the yard and called police.

Officers arrived quickly on scene, located the man and the dog. He told police he lived nearby and his dog ran into the yard. He was simply retrieving his dog. The man’s story checked out and officers let him go. However, in the process of clearing the scene, police discovered evidence of another person in the yard.

Officers located a second individual inside the portable toilet in the yard and apprehended him at gun point. Police charged the man with trespassing and drug paraphernalia possession.

Police suspect the man was mentally ill and had previously lived in a wooded area behind Goldfinch Brothers that was recently cleared for construction.
