Immigrant Lawyer-Turned-Coach is Nominated for Prestigious Business Award

Maroochydore, Australia, September 27, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Two years after setting up his brand spanking new life & business coaching and Body Stress Release practice on the Sunshine Coast, born Dutchman Marc de Bruin has been nominated for the Excellence in Business Award 2006 in the Life Style category. The Excellence in Business Award is an initiative of the Maroochydore Chamber of Commerce and has developed into one of the largest, most prestigious business events on the Sunshine Coast.

“I am absolutely honoured,” says Mr. De Bruin. “After having been a commercial real-estate and criminal lawyer for nearly 6 years in The Netherlands, I knew it was time to make an about-face. Little did I know then that it would also be in a new country and would yield me this nomination.”

Mr. De Bruin explains further: “Working on both mental and physical health is such a rewarding task. Working in Law had great aspects too, but my present line of work is a pure win-win situation; I did not always perceive that to be the case in court.”

Setting up a business in a foreign country poses interesting challenges. “I basically had to find out myself what I am now teaching my coaching clients: follow you passions, find your tools, stick with the plan, and don’t ever, ever give up.

“Being nominated for this award to me proves that I am doing a good job. It is a great privilege to be working with people in this beautiful part of the world, and to help them change their lives and businesses for the better. I wouldn’t know a better way of spending my working hours.”

The 2006 Excellence in Business Awards will be presented at a Gala evening on 6 October 2006 at Novotel Twin Waters Resort.
