Sustainable Atlanta Elects Wicker of UPS as Advisory Board President

UPS Veteran Expands Role in Environmental Policy and Programming Arena. Sustainable Atlanta has elected, Scott Wicker, Vice President of Sustainability and Corporate Plant Engineering for UPS, as the new president of the Sustainable Atlanta Advisory Board. Wicker expands his previous role on the board of the non-profit group charged with driving policy and programming efforts for Atlanta.

Atlanta, GA, October 15, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Sustainable Atlanta has elected, Scott Wicker, Vice President of Sustainability and Corporate Plant Engineering for UPS, as the new president of the Sustainable Atlanta Advisory Board. Wicker expands his previous role on the board of the non-profit group charged with driving policy and programming efforts for Atlanta.

At UPS, the world’s largest package delivery company and global leader in supply chain services, Wicker oversees the construction and expansion of facilities and material handling systems, facility maintenance and housekeeping, environmental and regulated goods compliance, and sustainability for UPS worldwide. Through these responsibilities, Wicker has worked to implement numerous environmental programs at UPS facilities around the world.

Wicker joined UPS in 1977 in operations in Detroit, Mich. As a graduate electrical engineer he was promoted through several levels of management and has served as a supervisor, project engineer, and facilities engineer. He later served as a district plant engineering manager in four districts before being promoted to region plant engineering manager in two regions including Europe. His assignments have taken him from the Midwest and New England to Brussels, Belgium and ultimately Atlanta, Ga.
