Quality of Life Project Announces October Kickoff of Monthly Speaker Series in Santa Monica

The Quality of Life Forum is a monthly speaker series in which featured guests share the things they do that contribute to their quality of life. The event is managed by The Quality of Life Project, a non profit which interviews people like Richard Branson, Jacqueline Novogratz, Mike Krzyzewski and Tom Skerritt and then shares their best life practices and perspectives with others.

Santa Monica, CA, October 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Quality of Life Project (http://www.qualityoflifeproject.org), an online resource helping people get more out of life, announced today the launch of a monthly speaker series, The Quality of Life Forum (http://www.qualityoflifeproject.org/qolf), based in Santa Monica, CA. The Quality of Life Forum marks the first community-based initiative for the organization since its formation in January. The organization is run by Los Angeles-based entrepreneur Kit Cooper, previous co-founder and president of Hispanic Teleservices Corporation.

The Quality of Life Project is a 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation based in southern California. The organization interviews people that are successful in life and then shares this repository of life perspectives and practices with others. Past interviewees include well known types like Richard Branson, Gary Player and Jacqueline Novogratz to lesser known but equally interesting individuals like Solly Amon who owns a popular fish market in Seattle.

The basis of the speaker series will be a conversational exchange between the moderator (Kit Cooper, founder and executive director) and special guests; a format akin to “Inside the Actors Studio”. The discussions will be laid back and without the air of anyone claiming to be experts. The talks will focus on the perspectives and practices of the interviewee that contribute to guests’ quality of life.

The first guest on October 21st will be Mark Thornton, author of Meditation in a New York Minute, expert on how meditation can create competitive advantage for leaders and individuals. Former COO of JP Morgan London, Thornton now counts as clients McKinsey, Wharton and Harvard Law School. Ben Sherwood, award winning author, entrepreneur and journalist., will be the forum’s November 18th guest. Ben is the author of New York Times best seller The Surviors Club, and is a former executive producer for Good Morning America and senior producer for the NBC Nightly News.

The most common areas of discussion include Relationships, Health, Family, Balance, Emotional Well Being and Getting Things Done with questions including; “What do you think are the benefits of a ‘benefit of the doubt’ mindset?” “What are some things you do on a daily basis that make your life better?” “What is something you’ve gotten better at over the years?” “Can you tell us more about your practice of always carrying an audio recorder with you?”

Attendance is free but space is limited to 125. To register and secure your space, email QOLF_Registration@qualityoflifeproject.org with your name in the body of the email.
