Rugby, United Kingdom, October 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Some of Coventry’s best businesses should become much better after attending a recent Top Tips seminar held in the town. Twenty seven business people and business advisors from the local and county councils as well as staff from the Chamber of Commerce attended a Top Ten Marketing Tips seminar run by Stefan Drew.
The event, which was funded by European Social Fund monies, was organised by Coventry City Council who booked the man the BBC introduce as The Marketing Magician, Stefan Drew, as the presenter. The businesses were shown why most marketing doesn’t work and how to reduce the cost of even the most expensive forms of marketing. Other topics included the hundreds of free marketing available to businesses during the recession.
Hussin Khan, Senior Account Manager at Maple Systems said, “ At Maple Systems we recognise how important marketing is in ensuring our customers get good service and excellent products every time. The skills I have learn today will help me to keep in better touch with my customers and really ensure I help them with quality advice.”
Carolyn Busfield from Beauty with Care, said, “ I learnt a lot about how I can improve my website to provide my customers with the information they need. I recognise the need to become really good at marketing and will be focusing on becoming the best marketed business in my area.”
Architect, Robert O’Callaghan, “This event really made me think about my marketing and the need to plan ahead. I’m going to be looking at using marketing methods my competitors don’t use. I can see the need to become a marketing professional as well as being an architectural professional.”
Sharon Lindop, Employment Officer at Coventry City Council said, “This event was one of the most popular we have run. We had people phoning for a place right up until a few minutes before it started. Clearly marketing is essential to any business and, with clients around the world, Stefan has a wealth of experience with business marketing. He went beyond giving us text book answers, his practical advice came from the real world and we were able to see how good marketing makes a real differnce to any business.”
Sharon continued, “I’d attended a previous event run by Stefan and use his marketing techniques on a daily basis; I can see why the BBC interview him so frequently and call him the Marketing Magician. We will be running more events with Stefan very soon.”
