Baitul Hameed Mosque Grand Re-Opening in Chino Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Communities of LA Inland Empire and LA East will be re-opening the Baitul Hameed Mosque in Chino on Saturday, October 24, 2009. Everyone is invited to attend the function which begins at 4:00 pm. Dinner will follow.

Commenting on the occasion, Imam Shamshad said, “For the last twenty years our Mosque has been the symbol of peace and love, and from its pulpit there has been disseminated no other message than the love of God and the service of His creation. In fact, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the leading Islamic organization to categorically reject terrorism in any form. Over a century ago, Ahmad (peace be on him), the Holy Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, emphatically declared that an aggressive “jihad by the sword has no place in Islam.”

Imam Shamshad went on to say, “The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to endorse a separation of mosque and state. Over a century ago, Ahmad (peace be on him) taught his followers to protect the sanctity of both religion and government by becoming righteous souls as well as loyal citizens. He cautioned against irrational interpretations of Quranic pronouncements and misapplications of Islamic law. He continually voiced his concerns over protecting the rights of God’s creatures. Today, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community continues to be an advocate for universal human rights and protections for religious and other minorities. It champions the empowerment and education of women. Its members are among the most law-abiding, educated, and engaged Muslims in the world.”

Commenting on the absence of freedoms in Muslim countries in general, Imam Shamshad said, “We render thanks to God Almighty that in America we all have the total freedom to practice and propagate our faiths as we wish. It is sad that in most Muslim countries the people are denied these freedoms, despite the fact that the Holy Quran enshrines all such freedoms clearly in its verses. Not only this but the life of Muhammad, peace and blessings of God be upon him, bears witness to the fact that Islam stands for the total freedom of conscience as stated in Chapter 2, verse 257 of the Holy Quran: There shall be no compulsion in matters of faith.”

Addressing the neighbors of the mosque in Chino, Imam Shamshad said, “We want to emphasize again and declare to all our fellow citizens, neighbors and friends that Islam teaches peace and love for God and for His creation. We believe in One God so our motto is: Love for All and Hatred for None – since all are His creation. It is this message that shall continue to be disseminated by this mosque always. Whoever has any questions or wishes to find out about Islam is invited to come and ask us. Our mosques are open to all, and always open,” he concluded.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has now built some 15,500 mosques, over 500 schools, and more than 30 hospitals. It has translated the Holy Quran into 60 languages. It propagates the true teachings of Islam and the message of peace and tolerance through a 24-hour satellite television channel (MTA), the Internet - www.alislam.org - and print (Islam International Publications). It has been at the forefront of disaster relief in the United States and worldwide through an independent charitable organization, Humanity First – www.humanityfirst.org
