Disaster Recovery Organization, NEDRIX, and Tech Collective Announce Partnership

Partnership will bring disaster preparedness and recovery resources to RI’s IT and Bioscience industries.

Providence, RI, October 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Tech Collective, Rhode Island’s Industry Association for Information Technology and Bioscience, and the Northeast Disaster Recovery Information X-Change (NEDRIX), a non-profit disaster preparedness and recovery organization, today announce their partnership.

Among Rhode Island’s high-performing, technology-dependant IT and Bioscience communities, the Tech Collective-NEDRIX partnership aims to help businesses negate the negative impacts of a disaster through:

Raising disaster preparedness awareness
Sharing business continuity planning and crisis-management best practices
Offering training and networking opportunities
Providing business leaders with up-to-the-minute information in the event of a crisis

NEDRIX is the premier resource organization for business continuity and emergency management professionals. A very popular benefit of being a member of NEDRIX is the automatic connection to their notification tool, NEDRIX Notify. The alerts derive from government-issued information related to incidents ranging from natural disasters and disease pandemics to terrorist attacks and infrastructure or network failures. Distributed in real-time, this information often reaches NEDRIX members before media and general outlets.

“NEDRIX is thrilled to partner with Tech Collective!” said Chris Glebus, president of NEDRIX. “It’s a natural fit to bring business continuity and information technology professionals together to discuss and plan for major disruptions.”

Lori C. Adamo, director of public/private sector collaboration for NEDRIX, concurs: “We look forward to future workshops, round tables and collaborative public sector symposiums as we work together to keep our businesses resilient during a disaster.”

“Tech Collective is proud to partner with NEDRIX in support of this important business issue,” said Kathie Shields, executive director of the Tech Collective. “Relying very heavily on people and technologies to operate successfully, the IT and Bioscience communities are among the first affected by a natural disaster or outage. Through our partnership with NEDRIX, Tech Collective members will now have access to the resources, models and prompts to establish and maintain reliable disaster recovery and business continuity plans.”

The NEDRIX-Tech Collective partnership will be officially announced at the NEDRIX Annual Conference in Newport, R.I. on Oct. 19-21, 2009 (http://www.nedrix.com/conference.html). The two organizations additionally will collaborate on resource-sharing and informational events in early 2010.
