WGN’s Pat Tomasulo and Fox Anchor Patrick Elwood to Emcee Kids Fight Cancer 25th Anniversary Fall Gala

The not-to-miss fundraising event will treat guests to dinner, dancing, live music, open bar, and offer outstanding raffle prizes like trips to Europe, an autographed guitar by Dennis DeYoung, sporting event passes, Grammy tickets and more.

Chicago, IL, October 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Kids Fight Cancer, a not-for-profit corporation that funds the Oncology Activity Center at Children’s Memorial Hospital, today announced that local news anchors Pat Tomasulo of the WGN Morning Show and Patrick Elwood of Fox Chicago News at Noon are confirmed co-emcees of its 25th anniversary Gala celebration in Rosemont, Ill.

During the dress-to-impress event held Saturday, Oct. 24, Gala attendees will receive dinner from Gibson’s Steak House, Rosewood and the Signature Room at the 95th, drinks and live music by Dennis DeYoung, former member of the band Styx. Guests can also enjoy access to an espresso bar; fried dough and gelato from Nino’s Pizzeria; signature pomegranate martinis provided by Pama Vodka; Anheuser-Busch beer, and a late-night snack of Gene & Jude’s hot dogs.

Highly-acclaimed Vegas-style entertainer Vito Zatto will kick off the evening’s entertainment, which includes performances by Chicago’s Trinity Irish Dancers, the Luvabulls -- the dance and cheer team for the Chicago Bulls -- and live music by Dennis DeYoung.

Ticket holders will also have the chance to win a wide variety of outstanding raffle prizes, which include hotel, restaurant and sporting tickets; a fishing charter; a trip to Paris; autographed guitars; tickets to the Grammy Awards and the signature raffle item -- A 10-day, 9-night getaway to the Italian cities of Rome, Florence and Venice.

Sen. Andy McKenna, who is currently running for Illinois governor, as well as his lieutenant governor running mate, Sen. Matt Murphy, will both be present at the event. Mayor Arlene Mulder of Arlington Heights, Miss Illinois Erin O’Connor and Jeff Schroeder, voted America’s “favorite houseguest” for season 11 of the reality series “Big Brother,” will also be in attendance.

The 2009 Gala, held at the Donald E. Stephens Grand Ballroom in Rosemont, will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are still available, and prices range from $80 per person for dinner and open bar, to $150 for upgraded VIP services like exclusive seating, VIP lounge access, celebrity meet & greet and champagne.
