Harvard JLIC Director Chosen as a Jewish Community Hero

Rabbanit Sharon Weiss-Greenberg is the Director of The Seif Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus at Harvard University and the first Orthodox Jewish female chaplain Harvard's history. She was chosen as a semi-finalist in the United Jewish Communities' Jewish Community Hero contest. Over 500,000 votes were cast for the contest with over 400 contestants in the running.

Cambridge, MA, October 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Rabbanit Sharon Weiss-Greenberg, the Director of The Seif Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus at Harvard University, was chosen as a semi-finalist in the United Jewish Communities' Jewish Community Hero contest.

Over 500,000 votes were cast for the contest with over 400 contestants in the running. Rabbanit Weiss-Greenberg was nominated for her extraordinary work inspiring thousands of young adults towards service in the Jewish community. She has made history by becoming the first Orthodox Jewish female chaplain in the history of Harvard University. Rabbanit Weiss-Greenberg is one of only three female semi-finalists out of twenty.

A panel of judges will decide the top five contestants from the list of semi-finalists and announce the five winners at the United Jewish Communities' General Assembly this November in Washington D.C.
