Merdeka Coffee Opens New Cafe at the British International School, Jakarta, Indonesia
The thirst for specialty coffee has spread to one of Indonesia's premium International Schools. Teachers, PTA members, parents and senior students now have a new Cafe on Campus to satisfy their caffiene crave.
Jakarta, Indonesia, October 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Last week Merdeka Coffee finally opened the long awaited cafe at the British
International School (BIS) in Jakarta. The cafe which will be known as "Busters" on campus, is named after the school's mascot- a British Bulldog.
The cafe is located in the brand new Dickens Library Complex, with spectacular views out two glass window frontages to the main sports field and Staff facility. The Library and cafe was officially opened to the public by the British Ambassador to Indonesia, Martin Hatfull, on Wednesday 14th October.
The Cafe serves all of Merdeka Coffee's well known espresso based drinks as well as cold drinks, light snacks, cakes and retail coffee packs.
Continuing a trend of being an equal opportunity employer, most of the new staff come from a local Non-Profit Orphanage and street kid centre. Merdeka Coffee believes that giving such people an opportunity to work is not only a huge bonus for them (in self esteem terms), but helps them build a dedicated and loyal team for the future.
The Cafe hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm and Saturday mornings 7am to 12 noon.
Merdeka Coffee is a West Java based company established in 2001 to promote fair and equitable trade with Indonesian coffee farmers. The company currently has cafes and and a roastery in Indonesia, as well as offshore business in Auckland, New Zealand.
