Big Kids Play Long Hours of Video Games to Aid Children’s Miracle Network

Video Game players play 24 hours of video games to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network.

Dallas, TX, October 18, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Instead of the usual boasts of successful passage through fiery dungeons and looming monsters, video game enthusiasts across Dallas will have the unique opportunity to boast about the money they are raising for sick children. On October 17-18, 2009, adults of all ages are invited to participate in a 24-hour video game marathon to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network at Children’s Medical Center.

The marathon, Extra Life for Kids (ELFK), will be held from 10 a.m. on October 17 through 10 a.m. on October 18 in Rockwall, TX. Interested participants over the age of 16 are expected to collect sponsorship donations from individuals or groups prior to the event.

“I never thought I could channel my love of gaming into something so worthwhile,” said Patrick McDougle, Extra Life for Kids Coordinator. “The marathon is lots of fun and at the end of those 24 long hours, it feels great to hand the check over to the hospital. This is our 7th year and it’s going to be our Biggest and Best year yet!”

Interested gamers should bring their own equipment. To sign up or receive additional information, please contact Patrick McDougle at Patrick.mcdougle@gmail.com or (214) 771-8538.
