Big Brother Teaches Safer Driving

TrackTec, Ltd. together with Mobileye Technologies releasing new AVL product which identifies driving habits, reduces accidents and teaches drivers how to drive more safely.

Tel Aviv, Israel, October 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- TrackTec’s patented Safety Stars™ program was released in July 2009 as a stand-alone product. As part of TrackTec’s ongoing drive for excellence they have integrated with Mobileye N.V. technologies

TrackTec’s device (DPL3 Dual Purpose Locator) performs all the real-time standard fleet management and AVL functions, but includes a new patent-pending technology to actually identify driving habits and improve driving skills. The pairing up of TrackTec with Mobileye’s patented vision based technologies further broadens the scope of what the driver is doing.

Amir Lorber, TrackTec’s CEO, says “Our new program will change the way a driver sees the way they drive.” He says with a smile, “Ask anyone and they’ll tell you they’re a good driver. Now they can learn the truth.”

Since the system produces online reports, fleet managers can identify high-risk drivers and take preventive measures to avoid future accidents. It isn’t only about reporting, it also gives real-time feedback to the driver which can improve driving safety.

It will add an interesting twist on the “Big Brother” technologies which have held a negative public opinion. TrackTec is hoping to change this attitude -- like the seatbelt: a nuisance, but at the end of the day saves lives.

The integrated product is scheduled for release 1Q 2010.
