The Studio-Store featuring "art and artful items" is now open in the Napa Valley of California.
Napa, CA, October 21, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Diane Padoven, Founder, Napa Farmhouse 1885™ – the virtual and literal destination for “living a green life of style™” and popular local artist, Valerie Raven-announced today the opening of Studio-Store, the Napa Valley’s newest destination for “art & artful items”.
“Studio-Store is a temporary “pop-up” shop located in a vacant storefront on Main Street in downtown Napa, Ca” said Raven. “For the past three months the space was home to the art gallery/store, Napa Nest and Diane and I both had our work showcased there. When Nest founder, Ann Trinca, decided to close the brick and mortar part of her business we jumped on the opportunity.”
Raven and Padoven have a unique arrangement with the building’s landlord. They are able to rent the space on a month-to-month basis with very “favorable” terms until the space is leased long term. “This is a win-win for both of us” said Padoven. “Both Valerie and I have web-store businesses and we also wholesale our products. This gives us the opportunity to experiment with a retail store without a multi-year commitment. The benefit for the landlord is the ability to have a cool shop operating in the midst of her other sites, not a dark, empty building.”
Valerie describes her work as “A passion for found objects with aspects of painting, collage & assemblage.” In Raven’s words, “Anything can be used to make Art…taking on a new life and expression through the joy of creating and sharing with others.’
Napa Farmhouse 1885™ boasts a broad offering of “hip, cool, eclectic, eco-friendly, simple, beautiful - and kinda groovy” handcrafted items sold through its online store, www.napafarmhouse1885.com. Everything is made from reused, repurposed, recycled and/or reimagined materials. The collection includes handcrafted jewelry & accessories, a small gourmet food line created using local organic or sustainably grown ingredients, handcrafted organic dog treats, a bath & body line handmade from organic and/or therapeutic grade ingredients and a salvaged materials home and garden collection inspired by vintage farmhouses made modern.
In addition to the items from Raven and Padoven, Studio-Store features products made by local artisans and craftspeople.
