MUMMS 20 Conference Wows National Hospice Community
New Orleans, LA, October 21, 2009 --(PR.com)-- mumms® Software, a technology leader in the hospice community, held its twentieth anniversary user conference on October 8-9, 2009, at the Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans, LA. The MUMMS 20 Conference featured two days of acclaimed guest speakers, in-depth training and roundtable sessions on the products and services mumms® currently offers its clients, and the debut of PAS Version 20. This product update revealed major enhancements and new features to the program including new billing options, reports, and bereavement features, and proved that mumms® remains a technology leader in the industry after twenty years.
The attendees of the MUMMS 20 Conference consisted of over one hundred hospice professionals, ranging from owners of start up agencies using the system to various staff from nationally recognized multi-site organizations. Attendees traveled from all over the country, including Hawaii and Puerto Rico, to meet together for this monumental event. In addition, MUMMS 20 featured an exhibit hall for the first time that was comprised of industry leading service providers, including Deyta, HospiScript, Outcome Resources, and OnePoint Patient Care among others. These guests were able to network with their notable speakers, including Dr. Donald Schumacher, President of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), Malene Davis, President and CEO of Capital Hospice, Kavin Cartmell, Member of the NHPCO Board of Directors, and Ken Ross, Co-Author of Tea with Elisabeth. Not only did Ken Ross speak at the conference, he was also available for a book signing. This conference allowed attendees to expand use of the mumms® System and gain a deeper understanding of the changes facing the hospice industry, while celebrating mumms®’ tremendous success over the last twenty years.
As part of the celebration, the mumms® Team hosted the MUMMS 20 Jubilee on Thursday evening following the conference sessions. This was an opportunity for the company to share its unique culture with all those in attendance. The MUMMS 20 Jubilee featured renowned jazz musician Bob French, along with authentic New Orleans cuisine. To continue the festivities, nearly half of the attendees were presented with giveaways from local artists, restaurants, and tourist attractions. The mumms® Team brought the conference to a close with its biggest gift ever by giving all attending hospices one free program license. Attendees and exhibitors raved that this year was the best conference yet and that they anxiously await the next user conference in 2011. One attendee, Mary McKenna, Director of Southeast Texas Hospice praised, "The MUMMS 20 Conference was beneficial, exciting, and fun! I love to go to New Orleans, but the ability to network with other hospices that use the software along with the programmers together in one place was more valuable than anything. I had a great time!"
