The Learning Edge International Wins Third Consecutive ICT Award

Hobart, Australia, October 21, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Learning Edge International has won the 2009 Tasmanian Government Information and Communications Technology Award, at this year’s Tasmanian Export Awards. It is the third consecutive year in which the company has been recognised as Tasmania’s leading ICT exporter.

The awards, a Department of Economic Development, Tourism and the Arts initiative and one of the state’s most prestigious industry awards, were presented before 250 business leaders at a gala function at Hobart’s Wrest Point on October 16th 2009.

The ICT category award was presented to The Learning Edge International’s CEO, Bob Cupitt by Alan Campbell from the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and the Arts.

Since winning both the Tasmanian Exporter of the Year and the Tasmanian ICT Exporter of the Year awards last year, the company’s export business has grown to account for 54% of the total client base and 51% of the company's revenues. Overall, The Learning Edge International has experienced growth of 112% during 2008/09 in export markets, despite the toughest economic climate experienced in recent years.

The Learning Edge International will now represent the state in the Australian Export Awards, with the national category winners due to be announced at a ceremony in Canberra on November 20th 2009.
