Information and Data Security Summit to be Held in Rochester NY
Rochester, NY, October 23, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Rochester (NY) Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association ISSA) is pleased to announce the 4th Annual Security Summit will be held Wednesday October 28 and Thursday October 29, 2009 at Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Conference Center, Fairport, NY. The conference will be held 8:00 to 5:00 each day. Co‐sponsors include the Western NY Chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP).
This year's theme is "Security Insight." The 2009 Keynotes will be "The Bad Guys Are Winning: So Now What?" by Ed Skoudis, Senior Security Analyst with InGuardians and SANS Instructor and "Zen & The Art Of An Internal Penetration Testing Program" by Larry Pesce, CCNA, GCFA Silver, GAWN Gold, Information Systems Security, Disaster Recovery and Identity Management at a mid organization in New England and co‐host for Pauldotcom.
The Rochester Security Summit will feature educational tracks including:
1. Business Professional Track ‐ The Security for Business Professional Track is designed to help the business professional understand the security issues and how they impact both their daily lives and their business. It will feature topics that are vital for business professionals to understand such as: Legal Compliance issues, Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity and Payment Card Industry standards.
2. Technical Professional Track ‐ The Technical Professional track is designed for IT technical specialists. Topics include VoIP security, technical security standards, as well as more advanced technical topics such as intrusion detection, forensics, preserving digital evidence, incident handling, identity theft techniques and hacker techniques.
3. Software Security Track ‐ The Software Security Track is targeted to Software Architects and Developers and focuses on improving the security of software developed in‐house by companies and organizations. It will discuss most common design and implementation flaws in applications, security patterns and libraries and framework to develop more secure code.

6. “Capture the Flag” Event co‐hosted with Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and RIT SPARSA student security group. (New for 2009)
