AIA Grand Valley Among Collaborators for Joint Association Meeting
Presentation on Nov. 5 in Grand Rapids to discuss the legal issues of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and IDP (Integrated Project Delivery).
Grand Rapids, MI, October 23, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The American Institute of Architects Grand Valley (AIA Grand Valley, www.aiagv.net) announced that it is collaborating with seven industry-related organizations for a presentation on legal issues of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and IDP (Integrated Project Delivery).
The event takes place on Nov. 5 from 3:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at the Watermark Country Club (5500 Cascade Rd., SE) in Grand Rapids. The Construction Specification Institute (CSI), National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE), United States Green Building Council (USBGC), Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), American Subcontractors Association (ASA) and Grand Rapids Builders Exchange (GRBX) are among the organizations partnering with AIA Grand Valley. Building Design + Construction serves as the media sponsor.
Grand Rapids-based Miller Johnson, which has an extensive construction industry group, including 15 attorneys who provide regular counsel and representation to owners, developers, architects, contractors, subcontractors, lenders and insurers, will lead the presentation, which will be followed by a roundtable discussion. Firm attorneys T.J. Ackert, Jeffrey S. Ammon and Aileen M. Leipprandt headline the list of speakers and will discuss such topics as:
• How does the architectural standard of care fit and evolve with the BIM model?
• What are the best practices for BIM in contractual relationships?
• How do you build an effective IDP program?
