New York, NY, October 23, 2009 --(PR.com)-- There are 368 lots in their current Asian, Ancient & Ethnographic Works of Art auction. Highlights of this auction include a painting entitled Ocean Sunset by the foremost Filipino artist, Fernando Amorsolo, an oil on panel. Amorsolo’s works are known for their interesting use of light while capturing the essence of Philippine culture. The volume of his work is believed to be around 10,000 pieces, and have become a national treasure throughout his homeland.
The iGavel auction includes a pair of desirable Chinese Ivory and Hardwood Table Cabinets from the 20th Century. These cabinets are both 13 3/4 inches high. They are highly carved and are nearly identical.
There are 27 paintings included in the iGavel auction. Several of these works are Indonesian, an example of which is a painting by the artist Rusli (1916-2005) entitled Festival Scene. This painting is a large oil on canvas that measures over three feet high by four feet wide.
Highlights of some of the Chinese works of art included in this iGavel auction are a Chinese Celadon Jade Hat Stand from the 19th Century, which has a fitted stand with inlaid silver wire, a fine Chinese Doucai Enamel Porcelain Dish from the 19th / 20th Century, and a Chinese Silver Wire Inlay Bronze Figure Shisou from the 19th Century.
