Panda Restaurant Group Chooses Cams Web Single Sign-on Security Middleware Solution
Panda Restaurant Group has chosen Cafesoft Cams web single-sign-on security middleware to protect its web resources.
San Diego, CA, September 27, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Cafesoft announced today that the Panda Restaurant Group selected the company's Cams web single sign-on security middleware solution to protect the company's web sites. Panda has successfully deployed Cams to secure all mission critical web applications and files, which are accessed internally and externally by employees, customers and business partners.
"Panda's selection of Cams represents a watershed event for us," said Gary Gwin, Cafesoft president and CEO. "Though we've consistently won opportunities against more expensive enterprise vendor solutions, this is the first deal where Cams has replaced an existing competitor's product. Panda chose Cams because it worked better, was more cost-effective and Cafesoft customer support was superior."
For Panda, Cafesoft implemented support for Cams web single sign-on to Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA). OWA is the web facing front-end to Microsoft Exchange that uses Windows security. Cafesoft's enhanced Cams to support Windows Impersonation, which enables real-time translation of a Cams user session to a Windows user login. This new feature also provides the same Cams web single sign-on benefit to Microsoft products such as SharePoint Portal Server and other 3rd party ISV solutions that use Windows IIS security. Additionally, Cams is being used at Panda to protect resources on J2EE servers such as BEA WebLogic and Tomcat.
"The responsive service and support we received from Cafesoft is exactly what we look for in a vendor," said Caleb Mitsvotai, executive directory of information systems development at Panda Restaurant Group. "They have been an extension of our own staff. They made the adoption and implementation of their solution easy. We truly felt like they were interested in our success."
Cams makes sites more secure and manageable by centralizing web application security policy decisions and management, rather than implementing security within web applications and web servers. This centralized approach to web security enables companies to reduce development and administration time, complexity and costs, while improving time-to-market, site security and software life-cycle flexibility. Cams also provides web single sign-on to eliminate the cost, risk and pain associated with multiple user accounts and sign-ons for the same web site.
The Cams service oriented architecture provides the security middleware foundation to easily deploy customized web application security solutions into heterogeneous environments. The lightweight, Java-based Cams policy server is easy-to-install and configure in small organizations while scaling to meet the requirements of large enterprise sites. Cams offers an industry leading meta-directory approach to integration with Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP servers, SQL databases and more. Other product features include:
o Web single sign-on to web and J2EE application servers
o Access control based on roles (RBAC), HTTP query parameters,
database values, date/time, location and custom rules
o Simplified and centralized security policy administration
o Security event logging, analysis and real-time notification
o Flexible customizations via open APIs
o Cross-platform support including Windows, Linux and Solaris
A free Cams Tour download is available on Cafesoft's web site at http://www.cafesoft.com.
