Ending Poverty: One Educated Child at a Time

Las Vegas, NV, October 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Poverty is the state for the vast majority of the world’s nations, and malnutrition is the number one risk to health worldwide.

More than one billion people are chronically hungry and every 24 hours, 40,000 children die of hunger or hunger-related diseases.

These alarming numbers prompted Dr. Max Lange, who was personally involved with many charities, to establish one of his own. He founded Childcare Worldwide in 1977 in Canada to eradicate poverty in the third-world countries by first reaching its root cause, illiteracy. Childcare Canada is a division of Childcare Worldwide.

“At Childcare Worldwide, we basically focus on helping children in third world countries get educated and hence, employable,” Executive Director Dan Bue said. “Of course, we do have to cross the hurdles of hunger and poverty by first meeting their basic needs so they can get to the next stage of receiving education.”

With a strong, stable base of sponsors and supporters, Childcare Worldwide has held very well even in these trying times.

“At a time when other charities are down by an average of 40% in terms of donations and funds, our organization is up 6% year-over-year in sponsorships,” Bue said. “Our main challenge is how to get our message across more effectively to get more people involved.”

With the help of Business Coach Kyle Oberndorf, Bue will now be able to achieve these goals.

By pledging to donate about six hours per month for coaching his favorite charity, Oberndorf recently enlisted Childcare Worldwide into a unique, global coaching program. ActionCOACH, the world’s leader in business and executive coaching recently launched Coaching for a Cause, a pro bono business coaching program, which will help non-profits and charities of all shapes and sizes together raise an additional 2.5 million in donations over a six-month period, during which time the results of the program will be publicized on its website.

Oberndorf’s goal is to help Childcare Canada increase their donors by 20% by April 2010. This will come from the addition of a sales force and increased awareness in the communities it serves.
