Columbia, SC, October 27, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Samurai Karate Studio is pleased to announce a new program that is being offered for women that will focus on fitness as well as personal protection.
Sensei Chris Feldt, the owner and chief instructor for SKS commented, "I have been teaching self defense workshops for several years now and many of the participants were asking if I would run a year round program. This program is a result of all those requests."
Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30pm to 8:15pm and Saturday morning from 9:00am to 9:30am. Only females, ages 14 and up will be allowed to participate in this program, due to the sensitive nature of some of the material covered.
"I have set the age limit," commented Feldt, "because we will cover topics like domestic violence and rape."
Students of this program will be allowed to train up to 3 times a week.
The course will cover many areas of self defense including body language, common attack indicators, common everyday weapons and the power of your voice. The program will also show women how to defend themselves against many everyday kinds of attack.
"My goal is to really help these women get physically fit and strong, and teach them how to defend themselves in most situations," stated Feldt. "The martial arts really offers a total body workout and when you combine that with personal protection tactics, this will be a really great course!"
Samurai Karate Studio is offering a risk free trial program for prospective clients that will include two weeks of classes and an official karate uniform for $49.50.
"This will give women the opportunity to meet me and to experience our classes before making a commitment to our program," stated Feldt.
Anyone that is interested in this new program may find out more infomation by calling Sensei Feldt at 803-462-9425 or emailing him at samuraikarate@bellsouth.net.
"People have always given me great feedback on my self defense workshops and my goal is to duplicate the kind of material that I present during the course of this program," commented Feldt.
