Pay No Road Tax on the New Volkswagen Golf BlueMotion Golf from UK Car Discount

Manchester, United Kingdom, October 30, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Volkswagen has recently launched its latest BlueMotion Volkswagen Golf, which has an official CO2 rating of just 99g/km and is therefore exempt from annual VED tax payments. Any car with an official CO2 emissions rating of less 100g/km is exempt from the tax.

The new BlueMotion uses Volkswagen's new 1.6-litre TDI turbo diesel engine which produces a maximum of 105bhp and gives the car a top speed of 118mph and a 0-62mph time of 11.3 seconds, while not impressive, perfectly balances fuel economy with reasonable performance.

To achieve the 99g/km CO2 figure, and combined fuel economy of 74.3mpg, Volkswagen has given what is essentially a Golf S higher gearing, a start/stop system, low rolling resistance tyres, regenerative braking, sports suspension (for a lower ride height, therefore improving its aerodynamic performance) and sports bumpers, side skirts and a roof spoiler.

The VW Golf BlueMotion starts from just over £16k on the road from UK Car Discount and is now the only car in the Volkswagen range with that exact name. The previous BlueMotion, which emits 107g/km of CO2, is now known as the BlueMotion Technology.

UK Car Discount customers are also urged to buy sooner rather than later so as to be able to take advantage of the lower VAT rate that is applied until 1st January 2010. As long as any new Volkswagen car from UK Car Discount is invoiced and paid before this date, the lower rate of 15% will be applied, thus giving a further saving of £353 on the lowest price model VW and over £400 on the top model Volkswagen.
