Red Cup Charity Golf Tournament Raises Thousands for American Red Cross
More Than $8,000 Was Raised for the American Red Cross at the Lennar Colonial Heritage’s Charity Gold Tournament.
Williamsburg, VA, October 30, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Participants in The Red Cup Charity Golf Tournament held at Lennar’s active adult community, Colonial Heritage in Williamsburg, helped to raise more than $8,000 for the American Red Cross.
“The event was an overwhelming success,” said Don Lewis, Colonial Heritage resident and tournament organizer. “We at Colonial Heritage were proud to host the Red Cup Charity Golf Tournament. And the most rewarding aspect is that through the help of very generous sponsors and tournament participants, a significant amount of money was raised for the American Red Cross.”
In addition to raising money, golfers enjoyed food prepared by the Colonial Heritage restaurant and various contests throughout the day including putting, longest drive and closest to the pin. Contest winners received incredible vacation packages and one lucky golfer won a five-day trip aboard a Carnival cruise ship.
“Our volunteers helped to make the Red Cup Charity Golf Tournament possible. Their efforts were instrumental in creating an event that was nothing short of phenomenal,” Lewis said.
Colonial Heritage is a premier active adult community in Williamsburg. The lifestyle oriented, development showcases villas and single family homes that range in size from 1,400 to more than 2,500 square feet and are priced from the $200s.
