Romanian Food Festival November 6-8, 2009 in Colleyville TX

Saint Mary’s Romanian Orthodox Church is pleased to announce the 4th Edition of the Romanian Food Festival, November 6th-8th 2009, a unique opportunity for Dallas Fort Worth locals to savor the exotic flavors of Eastern Europe, right in their backyard.

Dallas Fort Worth, TX, November 01, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Festival highlights include ethnic foods, traditional costumes and live entertainment. The Romanian cuisine is diverse, rich and tasty, with a unique character, despite its strong Balkan, German and Hungarian influence in the past.

This year at the Romanian Food Festival in Colleyville, homemade delicacies, including “sarmale”- cabbage rolls, "ciorba de perisoare" – meatball soup, “ciorba de burta” – truth-or-dare soup, “mititei”- traditional skinless sausages, pastrami, polenta with feta cheese and sour cream, sweet pastries and many other mouth-watering foods are on the menu, promising a gastronomic delight.

The festival begins on Friday, November 6th at 5 pm until 10 pm and continues Saturday November 7th from 10am to 10pm. Sunday November 8th the event opens at 12 am and ends at 7:30 pm.

There will be many attractions for visitors of all ages: church guided tours, indoor icon and painting exhibits, movie presentation, live dancing, music and gymnastics shows. Children will have fun with lots of games, face painting, dancing, a petting zoo, and other fun activities. Passionate shoppers can buy ethnic and religious artifacts, souvenirs and many more items in the vendor’s area. Romanian Food Festival is an outdoor event organized by St Mary’s Romanian Orthodox Church, at 3801 Glade Road, Colleyville, TX 76034. Admission: $5 adults; $3 kids (ages 6-13); free for age 5 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the gate on each of the festival days.
