Sonja Crawford Rackes started writing poems at the age of 11 after an illness. Her maternal grandfather, I.H. Plemmons, was a published poet and hit songwriter. With his guidance, Sonja's poems became larger stories, and by the time she was 27, she'd started writing books. This is Sonja's third published book. She has also published a book of inspirational poetry, "Touch the Sky," and a thriller, "Cast a Dark Shadow." All of Sonja's books include artwork by Glenda Sweitzer, who gave Sonja her collection of paintings to use as illustrations. She resides with her beloved husband Joseph in southwest Michigan.
