WearWine.com Founder Presents Workshop on ‘Wine as the New Golf’

Seattle, WA, September 30, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Adu Jahmal, founder of WearWine.com, announces his fall workshop series, “Wine and Business: The New Golf.” The corporate deals of today are just as likely to go down at the wine bar as the golf course, especially in Seattle, where wine enthusiasts abound and the weather dampens the greens.

Designed as a primer for novices and a brush-up for the initiated, the purpose of the workshops is to teach the terminology, regional provenance and language of wine. The series kicks off with a basic intro to wine on Oct. 4th from 5-6 pm at the Hotel Vintage Park. It continues with four in-depth sessions of wine, food, and learning at the neighboring Tulio Ristorante on Sundays from 2 to 3:30 pm, Oct. 29 to Nov. 19.

“Learn to speak wine, and your next contract, promotion or hire is that much easier,” says Jahmal. “Washington boasts a $3 billion wine industry. You are bound to find yourself in a situation in which knowledge of wine can help you, and ignorance could hurt.”

To drive home the point, Jahmal has themed his workshops around 18 holes of golf.

“Your handicap is based on whether you are a novice, enthusiast or connoisseur,” he explains. How well attendees demonstrate knowledge of wine regions or grasp terminology will determine their performance at each ‘hole.’ “Don’t worry if you shoot a ‘bogey’ or ‘double bogey.’ My goal is to make sure you achieve par or greater as often as possible when discussing wine. The next time your potential client or employer asks a question like, ‘What do you think of the Cabernet Sauvignon?,’ your response will land you an ‘eagle.”

Part networking session, part professional development workshop, “Wine and Business: The New Golf,” has the potential to become a regular feature of the Seattle downtown business scene. “Eighteen holes have never been this enjoyable,” says Jahmal.

The introductory session costs $65. The four-part series sessions are 90 minutes each and cost $65 per person, or $260 for all four. Valet parking is available at Hotel Vintage Park. Attendees may register online at http://www.winesessions.mollyguard.com.
