Atlanta Technology Community Recognizes Unicoi Systems, Inc.
The Atlanta technology community recently awarded Unicoi Systems the 2009 Excalibur Award in the Small Company category. The Excalibur Awards are given to companies who employ technology to improve competitive advantage or overall business efficiency. Unlike the TAG Top 10, which recognized Unicoi for its technological products and services, the Excalibur recognized us for our closed-loop marketing information system used internally.

Unicoi’s award was presented during the fifth annual Excalibur Awards ceremony, Oct. 23, 2009, at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta, Ga.
The Excalibur Awards recognize Georgia’s technology-enabled companies that demonstrate exemplary competency in utilizing technology to enhance their business. This year, awards were presented to companies in five categories: Small Company, Medium Company, Large Company, Educational and Creative. Unicoi Systems received the award for the Small Company category.
“This year’s nominations showed that Georgia companies are continuing to use technology to remain competitive and improve efficiency in this difficult economy,” said Tino Mantella, president of TAG. “Excalibur Award winners stood out from the competition by using technology to not only improve their business but effectively enhance their customers’ experience.”
Nominees for the Excalibur Award were judged on a variety of criteria including the scope of the problem solved, creativity of the technology-enabled solution, return on investment (ROI) and business results. Unicoi Systems, in particular, was recognized for the successful use of a closed-loop marketing information system to maximize marketing ROI and to minimize sales staffing requirements through automation.
