Enable America Puts Out Call to Disabled Veterans

In November Enable America is coordinating employment mentoring programs for disabled veterans, to assist those who have difficulty finding work. The non-profit organization is urging those who want to participate to contact the group now. November is "Disabled Veteran Employment Mentoring Month."

Tampa, FL, November 06, 2009 --(PR.com)-- In conjunction with Disabled Veteran Employment Mentoring Month, Enable America is calling on wounded war fighters who need assistance in finding a job to contact the organization.

“Our employment mentoring programs help people with disabilities make connections that lead them directly into the workforce,” said Richard Salem, founder and CEO of the non-profit that is devoted to empowering people with disabilities to achieve independence through employment. “We’re currently focusing increased energy on our wounded warriors, but to help those who need assistance, we need them to contact us now.”

Among the programs that improve employment for people with disabilities, Enable America organizes one-day employment mentoring programs. Participating businesses and organizations open their doors and provide hands-on work experience to people who face difficulty finding employment.

“For a person with a disability, who has trouble finding a job, going to work for just a single day can be a tremendously rewarding experience,” Salem said. “It’s an experience that many of us take for granted.”

Because Veterans Day falls in November, Enable America is focusing this month’s efforts on improving job prospects for disabled veterans. Among the participating companies is Clark Construction, which will mentor disabled veterans at its operations in both Tampa and San Antonio.

“We think Enable America is a wonderful organization that is committed to promoting job opportunities and we believe enough can't be done for our veterans,” said John Omran, Executive Vice President of Clark Construction. "Enable America is a model organization and should be supported by all companies on behalf of disabled veterans who need this type of exposure so desperately.”

Disabled veterans as well as businesses that want to participate in the Enable America program can contact the organization via a link on the organization’s web site, EnableAmerica.org, or by phone at its toll free number 1-877-ENABLED.
