Tee It Up & Serve It Up for the Troops at Skyline Country Club
Skyline Country Club is again joining the Wounded Warrior Project and the Tucson Community Cares Foundation to host the fourth annual charity golf tournament, Tee It Up for the Troops. For the second year in a row, an exciting addition allows tennis players to also get involved in the action – Serve It Up for the Troops. The event takes place Saturday, November 14, beginning at 7 a.m.

Skyline Country Club to hold golf and tennis tournaments in support of
local military and their families.
Skyline Country Club is again joining the Wounded Warrior Project and the Tucson Community Cares Foundation to host the fourth annual charity golf tournament, Tee It Up for the Troops. For the second year in a row, an exciting addition allows tennis players to also get involved in the action – Serve It Up for the Troops. The event takes place Saturday, November 14, beginning at 7 a.m.
All proceeds from the golf and tennis tournaments will directly benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and the Air Force Foundation Tucson Community Cares Foundation.
For the golf tournament, golf foursomes will be partnered with Davis Monthan Air Force Base personnel and Arizona Air National Guard Task Force Desert Hawk troops for a modified five-person scramble game. The cost is $150 per person for breakfast, lunch and golf. In honor of our armed forces, all Davis Monthan Air Force personnel participating play and dine at no cost. The Tee It Up & Serve It Up events are open to the public.
The second annual tennis event, Serve It Up for the Troops, will complement golfing. The format is a mixed doubles tournament with teams consisting of one military and one non-military participant. The team winning the most games wins the tournament.
In 2008, the golf tournament raised a grand total of $32,400 which was donated to charity.
To kick off the event, Skyline Country Club will host a breakfast beginning at 7 a.m. The Opening Ceremony will follow at 8 a.m. with a full Military Honor Guard to post colors at the driving range. Golf and tennis will start at 8:30 a.m., with a delicious lunch beginning at 1 p.m. A raffle will also be held during lunch. All proceeds will be directed to local Armed Forces families to help support the fallen and disabled close to them.
Tee It Up for the Troops, Inc. is a national effort to provide programs and services to ease the burdens of wounded soldiers and their families, aid in their recovery process and assist in the often difficult transition back to civilian life. Tee It Up for the Troops, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded on the principle that veterans are our nation’s greatest civilians.
