Kevin Heywood of System Concepts Wins Health and Safety Consultant of the Year Award
London, United Kingdom, November 07, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Kevin Heywood, was named as Consultant of the Year at the prestigious Safety Health Practitioner / Institute of Occupational Safety and Health Awards 2009.
Kevin works for System Concepts Ltd, a London based health, safety and ergonomics consultancy, providing full-time on-site support to one of their major clients.
His task, when he started two years ago, was to help the client implement 72 actions from a health and safety audit in in ten of their offices in Scotland, Northern Ireland and the north of England. Kevin drew up a regional prioritised plan of action and worked with the local office staff to produce an office-based action plan for each site.
Through on-site and telephone support, Kevin coached and mentored people to help them implement their local plans. Kevin’s work has brought health and safety management in the ten offices to the same level as the rest of the client’s UK sites allowing them to develop a national health and safety strategy.
The judges were particularly impressed with how Kevin took time to find out what he was dealing with and planned accordingly rather than arriving on site with pre-conceived ideas.
Kevin explains, “I am extremely proud to have received this award. Our work has vastly improved productivity at the ten offices and has allowed the client to streamline their health and safety management nationally.”
