Botox Training: IAPAM Announces 2010 Training Dates for Physicians

Las Vegas, NV, November 08, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The IAPAM has developed three different programs to train physicians in the injection of Botulinum Toxins (Botox and Dysport) and dermal fillers.

Physicians with limited Botox injection experience, should first attend the IAPAM's Aesthetic Medicine Symposium in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Physicians with some Botox injection experience will then want to attend the Botox & Dermal Filler Bootcamp, where they inject over 10 live patients over the weekend in Toronto, Canada.

Once a physician has 6 months of injection experience, they also have the Advanced Dermal Filler training program where they'll have an opportunity to learn more advanced dermal filler injection techniques, including: Jaw contouring, Tear trough, Cheek Augmentation, and Advanced Lip sculpting techniques in Toronto as well. And most importantly, all of our injection training is done in a medical facility or medical spa, not in a hotel room chair.

The IAPAM's Botox / Dermal Filler Bootcamp Leads the Industry
"What makes our Dermal Filler & Botox Training stand out from all the others is that physicians get to inject 10-14 live patients over the weekend, and they do it in a clean medical facility, not a hotel room chair," says IAPAM Executive-director, Jeff Russell. "This allows the attendees to learn proper injection technique, as well as the opportunity to inject and evaluate many patients all with different musculature structure, which are both critical for success in the medical spa industry."

This training includes:
- The most live patients: 10-14 live patients;
- The lowest class ratios: No more than 2-3 physicians per instructor;
- Injecting all 11 areas of the upper and lower face;
- Over 6 hours of Hands-on Botox and Filler training each day;
- Includes all cosmetic injectable product;
- Botox (TM) and Filler training materials with DVD’s;
- Certificate Awarded; and
- Botox (TM) and Filler CME’s available for IAPAM members.

Day One covers Botox / Neurotoxin Injectables.

Attendees are presented with a brief but thorough review of the muscles of facial expression. The indications, risks and benefits of Botox Cosmetic (TM) and other neurotoxins will be discussed for both the upper and lower face. Also, ideal dosing and advanced Botox injection techniques will be emphasized. The majority of the program focuses on registrants completing hands-on injecting of patients.

Attendees will perform the following botulinum toxin procedures:

- treatment of glabellar frown lines;
- forehead lines;
- periorbital rhytid;
- nasalis ”bunny” lines;
- melomental “marionette” lines;
- platysmal bands, horizontal necklace lines;
- pebbly “peau d’orange” chin; and
- hypertrophic inferior orbiculartis ”jelly roll.”

Day Two: Dermal Fillers (Juvederm (TM), Restylane (TM), Perlane (TM)).

Physician-instructors offer a didactic presentation on the use of Restylane/Perlane and Juvederm for nasolabial folds, melomental folds (“marionette lines”), and lip augmentation.

Registrants will perform the following hands-on procedures with Juvederm, Restylane and/or Perlane:

- Marionette Lines;
- Lip augmentation; and
- Nasolabial Folds.
