Concert of Operatic Gems to Benefit Preemies
Toronto, Canada, November 08, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Sixteen exciting young performers will join forces to showcase their talent in a concert entitled “A little OPERA for little BABIES” in order to raise money for the Linden Fund, in support of Neonatal Intensive Care.
“A little OPERA for little BABIES” debut concert will take place on November 21, at 7:30pm, at Bloor St. United Church, located at 300 Bloor St. West, in Toronto, Ontario. Performers include Erin Bardua, Cheryl Campbell, Jennifer Carter, Kate Carver, Saemi Chang, Shannon Coates, Kristine Dandavino, Geoff Keating, Suzanne Kilgore, Jason Lamont, Christopher Mayell, Anne-Marie Ramos, Michelle Simmons, Andrew Tees, Larry Tozer, and Sandra Tucker. The evening will feature favorite arias and ensembles from well known operas, including The Merry Widow, La Bohème, The Pirates of Penzance, Tannhäuser, Die Zauberflöte, Carmen, Le nozze di Figaro, Rigoletto, Lakmé, The Barber of Seville, and others.
“A little OPERA for little BABIES” is organized by soprano Cheryl Campbell and baritone Geoff Keating, following the birth of their daughter, 12 weeks early, in 2007. They are joined by pianist Kate Carver and baritone Andrew Tees, also parents of a preemie. Together they have chosen to donate the proceeds from this concert to the Linden Fund, which raises money to fund health needs through the purchase of specialized medical equipment as well as providing items of comfort and convenience to assist in the mental, physical, and emotional development of premature infants and their families of the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit across Canada.
