The Fall Fashion Event, to be held on Friday, November 13, 2009 at the Biltmore Hotel, will showcase The Best of Saks Fifth Avenue and will include special appearances as runway models by the firefighters featured in the South Florida Firefighters 2010 Calendar. CBS 4’s Shannon Hori will be the afternoon’s emcee. Special guests attending include five-time Olympic gold medalist Gary Hall Jr. and Megan Clementi, Miss Florida USA® 2010.
Meet Artist Rick Garcia, who designed and painted this year’s cover of the invitation and program. Rick’s actual painting will be on auctioned during the cocktail hour. Garcia began his associations with galleries in the 80’s which led to having his paintings frequently used on the hit TV show, “Miami Vice” as well as, TV commercials and magazine ads. He was a three–time official artist for the Grammy Awards, was named an “Absolut Artist of the 90’s” where his image of the famous vodka bottle was seen in a surreal landscape and designed a postage stamp for the US Postal Service, to mention a few of his accomplishments.
The Fall Fashion Event is co-chaired by Irene Korge, Civic Leader and Diana Fitzgerald, Esq. Partner, Villanueva, Bajandas & Fitzgerald.
“The Fall Fashion Event promises to be a highlight on the South Florida social calendar offering the opportunity to enjoy a top of line runway show while supporting a worthy cause,” commented Mark Thompson, Executive Director of Special Olympics Miami-Dade County. “We invite the South Florida Community to come out in support of Special Olympics Miami-Dade County and help us provide opportunities that empower individuals with intellectual disabilities.”
