Non-Profit PGC 200 Selects Linda Amaro of NextWork™ Services to Join Board of Advisors
Co-Founder of San Diego-Based Career Transition Services Company to Lead a Series of Career Workshops Specifically for Job Seekers in the Life Sciences Industry.
San Diego, CA, November 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Linda Amaro, co-founder of San Diego-based NextWork™ Services, has joined the Board of Advisors for PGC 200, a new San Diego non-profit community organization created for life science professionals to take charge of their careers through partnerships with the existing ecosystem of organizational development professionals, governmental departments, industry and trade associations, and educational institutions. In her role as an Advisor, Amaro is responsible for curriculum development, extending the organization’s network of Advisors, and selecting workshops suitable for current workforce needs.
“After connecting with the founders of PGC 200, we discovered that the common thread we shared was a drive to make a difference for those who are seeking employment and those that would like to advance their careers,” said Amaro. “The key in either case is career management. Through my advisory role with this new non-profit, I will have the opportunity to touch lives and share knowledge with skilled professionals in the life sciences industry who are either looking for work or seeking a change.”
PGC 200 will host its launch event, slated for Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Amylin Pharmaceuticals in San Diego. The launch event will kick off a series of workshops led by Amaro and other PGC 200 board members on topics related to the book by Garry Ridge, CEO at WD-40®, entitled “Helping People Win at Work.”
Amaro’s immediate courses to follow the launch event include:
· 11/17 – Winning with Your Natural Style (DISC)
· 11/24 – Creating an A+ Resume
· 12/1 – Winning at Your Job Search
