Brittany's 2nd Annual Angel Gala Set for November 22, 2009
Brittany’s Battle, Inc. will host their 2nd Annual Angel Gala. The event is an annual fundraiser for the NC non-profit whose mission is to support families battling cancer. They also raise money for lung cancer research.
Garner, NC, November 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month and Brittany’s Battle, Inc. is pleased to announce that several sponsors have joined the battle against Lung Cancer. Lung Cancer kills more people every year than breast, prostate, colon, liver, kidney and melanoma cancers - combined. And despite the stigma, Lung Cancer does not discriminate - more and more non-smokers are being diagnosed every day. That is why Brittany's Battle is so important and they are pleased to announce a new corporate this year, Ruppert Landscape.
A national company based in Maryland with offices throughout the East Coast, Ruppert Landscape has generously donated several auction items including a “Charlotte All-Star Package” consisting of two tickets to the NASCAR All-Star Race in Charlotte in May, a two-night hotel stay compliments of Candlewood suites in Charlotte, and some Earnhardt memorabilia. They have also donated a “Gourmet Coffee Package” including a coffee maker, coffee, and Ruppert coffee mugs. Michael Williams, Business Development Manager of the Carolinas for Ruppert Landscape, has been a long time supporter of Brittany’s Battle and instrumental in securing these auction items as well as several door prizes.
Mr. Duffy Paul, on behalf of Alco Electronics Ltd., has generously donated a Venturer 12” Under cabinet LCD TV/DVD/Radio. Everyone who buys a ticket to the Gala will automatically receive one chance to win this fabulous TV. There will be an opportunity at the Gala to make an additional donation for an additional chance to win this exciting prize.
A Gallery of Wigs has generously provided sponsorship for the music, including the sound system and DJ, for an evening filled with dancing and fun. Corporate sponsors Crossroad Entertainment, Cindy Rice Designs, GeoSpec, Ricky Jackson Creations, Brasco Marketing, Maple Ridge Farms and others together with NC State University, University of NC at Chapel Hill, The Carolina Hurricanes, The Carolina Mudcats, The Durham Bulls and so many, many more have generously donated to the Gala.
This year's online auction, through EBay, will go live about a week before the event and will consist of items from Brittany's Battle Honorary Chairman Jason Michael Carroll as well as Carrie Underwood, Little Big Town, Keith Anderson and more! Watch for exciting autographed items to bid on like a Cowboy Hat and a baseball bat.
This year’s event will feature a buffet dinner, music and dancing, door prizes, and an automatic entry to win the TV donated by Alco. You can also donate to win on-line and silent auction items.

About Brittany's Battle, Inc.
Brittany Coppedge was a healthy, non-smoking young woman when, at 19, she was diagnosed with lung cancer on Dec. 3, 2006. Transferred to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC, she spent 3 weeks battling for her life. Brittany lost her battle just 3 days after Christmas 2006.
When asked about Brittany’s Battle, Inc.’s mission, president Tammy Coppedge notes, “We often rely on our friends & families to protect us from harm, provide comfort and support, and to be there in good and bad times. During Brittany’s illness, our own support system was amazing and now Brittany’s Battle, Inc. strives to provide that same support, emotional and financial, to families battling cancer while raising awareness about the desperate need for lung cancer research.”
Brittany’s Battle, Inc. has been able to make several contributions directly to the UNC Cancer Hospital, Patient and Family Resource Center and their most recent donation was earmarked for making wigs for teenage oncology patients.
