Customer Magnetism Donates to Local Breast Cancer Research Foundation
Search engine positioning company Customer Magnetism contributes portion of funds from all new accounts signed in October.
Virginia Beach, VA, November 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- As part of a campaign to help raise breast cancer awareness and support the ongoing search for a cure, Customer Magnetism, a Virginia Beach search engine optimization firm, presented a donation today to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Tidewater Affiliate.
Customer Magnetism created a fundraising incentive program for October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, contributing a portion of all funds from new contracts signed and received last month.
“We wanted to have a stronger community focus,” said Aaron Leslie, president of Customer Magnetism. “There are a lot of charities that rely on other organizations for contributions, and we wanted to be a part of it.”
The company chose to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month because some of its employees have had their lives touched by breast cancer through friends and family members.
Employee Nicole Newsome has a family member battling the disease. Her mother, Andrea Edwards, was diagnosed with breast cancer 10 years ago. After a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation treatments, Edwards was cancer-free until three years ago, when it returned. It has spread and is now inoperable.
“She has great hope that a cure for breast cancer will be found in her lifetime,” said Newsome. “Her strength and courage are inspiring to everyone around her.”
When Newsome informed her mother about the contribution by the Internet marketing firm, Edwards was both ecstatic and appreciative.
“She was very excited and pleased to know that Customer Magnetism has supported the local Susan G. Komen Tidewater Affiliate,” said Newsome. “This donation will help educate our community about early detection and prevention.”
About 1.3 million people are diagnosed with the breast cancer every year and there is no known cause or cure. Funds donated to the non-profit organization go toward research, education, screenings and treatment.
