Stories of ‘Real’ Women of Color Featured in Launch of New Web Series

SistaPAC Productions is pleased to announce the launch of its largest project to date - a webisode series entitled "Kindred." Dramatic. Engrossing. Chaotic. Enter the world of Karmella Scott, Collette Robbins and Angelina Chambers, three twenty-something African-American women who are first cousins, as they navigate family, work and love against the gritty skyline of New York City.

New York, NY, November 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Kindred (www.kindredseries.com) is one of the few independently produced web series focused on the experiences of people of color. The series has recently been featured on TheRoot.com (http://www.theroot.com/views/new-black-tv-guide) and Shadow&Act (http://www.shadowandact.com/?p=10760).

The launch of Kindred will be offline and online on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 8:00 P.M. EST. Offline, SistaPAC Productions is hosting a Premiere Launch Event at a venue in Manhattan, New York. The event will cater to media and press, and allow guests to experience the debut of this sexy new web series live. Special invited guests will get the opportunity to meet the stars and cast of Kindred. There will be celebrity guests, giveaways, special live performances and much more. For those unable to make the event in person, they will simultaneously be able to view the first webisode online at http://www.KindredSeries.com. Fans, new and old, will be able to check out live streaming of the NYC event, enter into online giveaways, and chat with other fans.

One of the key features of the Kindred web series is “Friday Night Cocktails.” “Friday Night Cocktails” is the one place the cousins and their mothers come together, to get away from it all and gain comfort and support. During these gatherings, anything can happen and everyone has an opinion. There are martinis and cosmos to make, food to eat, gossip to catch up on and lessons to be learned. It's an exciting, edgy exchange revolving around a myriad of provocative topics, told through the lives of ordinary women with sometimes unordinary life circumstances. Here, these accomplished women settle in to talk about men, politics, the economy, their lives, their hurts, and of course, love.

The Kindred Series consists of three (3) webisodes slated to rollout over a 6-week period. The home of the series is www.KindredSeries.com, where fans can find the official trailer, photos, videos, character biographies, behind-the-scenes footage, and connections to social networks. Sponsors and partners who have signed on to-date, include: Western Union, Rowdy Orbit, Indigo Click, PLUS Model Magazine, Chic Jones Media, Viscosity Interactive Media and Entertainment, Lowe Imaging, Unimix Films, André Maurice Press, among others.
