Beauty, Fashion & Celebrity Make Up Artist Deshawn Hatcher Announces Her 5th Year of Senior Picture Day
Make-Up Artist to the Stars, DeShawn Hatcher, will take her skills to Far Rockaway High School on November 21, 2009.
New York, NY, November 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Makeup Artist extraordinaire, native New Yorker DeShawn Hatcher will be celebrating her 5th Year of her program "Senior Picture Day" this year at Far Rockaway High School November 21st, 2009. For five years DeShawn Hatcher has coordinated a team of makeup artists who volunteer their time and apply makeup for High School seniors for their yearbook.
"We all look back at our high school yearbooks–some of us with smiles and some in horror. I have always felt strongly about never having to be embarrassed by our past" - Hatcher laughs. "I created Senior Picture Day. I thought it would be doing something nice for a group of deserving students. Well it’s so much more then that it has turned into a self esteem building, empowering and fun day for all involved. When these students look back I hope they will remember the day fondly and love their pictures as much I loved doing it for them." says Hatcher
Over the years DeShawn’s program has reached over 500 students. In the beginning DeShawn used all of her own makeup, as the years moved on donations from Maybelline New York, Cinema Secrets, and Face Atelier have enabled her to give even more students the chance to receive a fabulous makeup over. "I could never do this alone and I am proud to say my volunteers are makeup artists who like myself want to give to our future–these fabulous children." Deshawn says. This year she has been fortunate to have Make Up Forever and Iman cosmetics to donate makeup to her program. "It is a true blessing every year I get to do this."-says DeShawn
DeShawn Hatcher’s make-up artistry has graced the pages and covers of numerous national and International fashion magazines: Vanity Fair, Brides, Ocean Drive, XXL and Zink. Some of DeShawn’s celebrity clients have been Vanessa Williams, Tom Cruise, Beyonce, Miss Universe and Nelly. Her work on television’s Saturday Night Live, Entertainment Tonight, Extra and Inside Edition have been seen by millions DeShawn is also a sort after lecturer and demonstrator on editorial makeup, beauty makeup, and makeup artistry the business.
