CuraBase to be Presented at the AACR-NCI-EORTC Molecular Targets and Cancer Therpeutics Conference in Boston
Mill Valley, CA, November 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Targeted Therapeutics Consulting, Inc. announced today that its lead product, the cancer drug development database CuraBase®, will be introduced to the scientific community at the AACR-NCI-EORTC Molecular Targets and Cancer Therpeutics Conference in Boston on Monday, November 16. Dr. W. Michael Korn, Associate Professor at the University of California San Francisco, will present a poster entitled “CuraBase: An Integrated Relational Database and Online Collaboration Platform for Cancer Drug Development.” The poster will be made available on the Company’s website www.targetedtherapeutics.com.

About CuraBase®

CuraBase® is a novel database and online collaboration tool (www.curabase.com) for professionals involved with cancer drug development in industry and academia. It was created in response to the extraordinary increase in the number of novel, targeted agents for the treatment of cancer has resulted in the generation of a vast amount of clinical and preclinical data at an ever-quickening pace. Until now, no standardized system existed to allow for systematic collection, organization, and analysis of such data. CuraBase® was developed to provide scientists involved with cancer drug development quick access to relevant data on molecular targets, targeted agents, and clinical trial results.

The system consists of a curated relational database capturing information on new drugs, drug targets and pathways, and clinical trial results using a standardized format. Database content is obtained from the public domain and entered into the system using standardized terms and vocabulary.

Incorporated into this database is a password-protected online collaboration platform allowing for secure information exchange within workgroups. Database content can be annotated by the workgroups, thus allowing for the addition of a second layer of workgroup-only proprietary information.

The relational database structure enables users to generate comprehensive and relevant data output. For example, tables summarizing clinical trial results from various drugs targeting particular molecular targets or pathways can be generated on demand. This relational database is a novel tool to enhance analysis, communication, and collaboration on drug development projects in academia and industry.
