The Role of Using LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) in Helping Preserve the Environment
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Before you decide which materials to use when planning for your next showroom, high rise building or even for your home, consider using alternative materials which helps towards the protection and preservation of the environment. A perfect example of this is using LED lights.
Commercial LED based lights with ultra-high brightness (UHB) are a wonderful, fairly recent technology as although they have been around since the 70’s, different colored LEDs with practical uses was only perfected in the late 90’s.
It is not only that LED lights lasts long due to its high resistance to wear and tear, they also have a lot of environmental and economical benefits. LED lights on average lasts 10 times longer than incandescent or halogen bulbs, does not use nor contains harmful elements such as mercury which are present in CFL or compact fluorescent bulbs and most importantly, it uses between 50 to 80 percent less energy than ordinary incandescent, halogen, neon or fluorescent lights. This means that if people will replace their traditional lighting with LEDs, they will not only reduce their carbon footprint across the region but they will also have huge savings on their light energy consumption as about 18 - 22 percent of an average household's electricity bill goes toward their lighting cost.
In line with further promoting UAE’s awareness of using materials which are non-toxic and requires less energy to use, Neo-Neon, an industry leader in the production of LED based lighting solutions with representative offices in most of the major cities around the world including Dubai has currently reaffirmed its forward thrust in the Middle East region by appointing Akira Saito as the new Marketing and Communications Manager and Svitlana Izotova as the Sales Manager for their Dubai office.
Mr. Jason Yong, Branch General Manager of Dubai based Neo-Neon International LLC, the Middle East regional office of Neo-Neon International Holdings said:
“These key appointments confirm and demonstrate Neo-Neon’s strong confidence in the UAE market in spite of the current crisis and it also proves our conviction to further develop and strengthen our presence in the Middle East. We are also in the process of finding suitable partners around the rest of the GCC countries to establish networks and build showrooms there.”
Yong added, “With HH Sheikh Al Maktoum’s initiative of promoting environment-friendly "green buildings" in the UAE and the need of everyone to be more economical nowadays, Neo-Neon believes that very soon, most if not all people will be resorting to LED for their lighting needs.”
