Edworthys.co.uk Step into Motor Sport Sponsorship
On-line car part and accessory retailers Edworthys.co.uk has recently taken a further major step in its progress by sponsoring a sports saloon racing team.
London, United Kingdom, October 06, 2006 --(PR.com)-- The hugely popular on-line car part and accessory retailers, edworthys.co.uk, has recently taken a further major step in its progress by sponsoring a sports saloon racing team. Backdraft Motor Sport is based in Milton Keynes and the team currently competes in the BARC Sports Saloon track programme with a silver and yellow 350bhp four wheel drive Audi TT 1.8T.
The director of the racing team is a former full-time fireman who served in the Brigade for sixteen years, Mark Hosken, hence the name Backdraft, which, as any fire fighter will be aware, is the name given to a dangerous situation caused when a rush of oxygen from a door being opened that can turn a controllable building fire into a fireball. Mark is no newcomer to the race circuits and he’s progressed through various classes of motor sport including racing 250cc Suzuki motor cycles and Formula Honda single seat cars. Mark has already proved that both he and the car are already highly competitive and in one of the team’s early outings during 2005 they finished 3rd in one race, 2nd in the next at Silverstone. The Audi also won the award for best prepared car at the event. More recently Mark achieved pole position at Silverstone in May and went on to win the race.
Mark will be demonstrating the car, complete with stylish edworthys.co.uk decals, at Castle Coombe Track Day and Show on 14th October and will be competing next at two Britcar winter series events at Donington Park on 4th November and Silverstone on 18th November.
An excited Jason Edworthy, managing director of edworthy.co.uk explained “This is a great opportunity to link up for the first time with a successful motor sport and I am certain both Mark, through his on-track performances with the car, and edworthy.co.uk through our performance car parts and accessories will be perfectly suited partners.”
