Mr. Coleman begins with a funeral -- mourners gathered around a coffin being lowered into the ground. We quickly learn that the coffin holds a chimpanzee whose presence in the lives of these people touched them deeply and profoundly. As the coffin is lowered, we are carried back into memories of how this story began and the remarkable role Mr. Coleman played in the lives of those now walking from his gravesite.
