Friends of Druid Hill Park Announce 2010 Maryland Maryland Arbor Day Poster Contest

Baltimore, MD, November 22, 2009 --(PR.com)-- You are invited to join over 75,000 fifth grade teachers across America in the 2010 Arbor Day Poster Contest. This year’s contest “Trees are Terrific...and Energy Wise!” includes classroom activities designed to increase understanding of the importance of trees in a community.

Activity guides containing lesson plans centered on the theme, “Trees are terrific…and Energy Wise!” are available to all public and non-public school. The use of part or all of the activities in the guide is encouraged, but not mandatory, for participation in the contest. You may adapt, alter, or supplement theses activities to meet the needs of your class.

Each participating school will select one school winner. The school’s winner becomes eligible to compete in the state competition.
